Instructions

1. Cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the diced onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.

3. Add the grated carrot and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.

5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, smoked and/or hot paprika, salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.

6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

7. Serve the bolognese sauce over cooked pasta.
